2 minute guide to managing contractual change

This guide covers the normal stages to achieve change, and looks briefly at the options available if agreement cannot be reached.

The contract of employment is legally binding on both employer and employee. Contractual terms can also be formed through custom and practice. The only bullet proof way of achieving changes to a contractual term is with the express agreement of the employee.

Note that imposing change without agreement is not unachievable, but the risks of each case should be carefully assessed before making an informed decision. Subscribers to myhrdept.co.uk should use the contact us facility to discuss the change required – we will be happy to advise on bespoke solutions and possibilities.
