The law dictates that all employees (even temporary) are entitled to receive ‘written particulars’ by the end of their second month of employment. Our contracts of employment go a step further by allowing you to describe in more detail your expectations of your employees. In the absence of a contract, an employment tribunal will assert its own interpretation of certain terms of employment, and this interpretation could be very different from those the employer actually intended.
